Frasers Property Thailand (FPT) has reaffirmed its commitment to ESG and public well-being through the continuation of its flagship initiative, the ‘Mitrdonor’ project, now entering its fifth year. The company highlighted its M.I.T.R. strategy — a successful framework for transforming mixed-use spaces and office buildings into blood donation hubs in collaboration with the National Blood Centre, Thai Red Cross Society.

The company's efforts are guided by Frasers Property's Social Value Framework, which comprises the three pillars: Inclusive Community, Holistic Well-being and Enabling Opportunity. The donation drives aim to promote good health and well-being, in line with Goal 3 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

Mr. Thanapol Sirithanachai, Country Chief Executive Officer of Frasers Property (Thailand) Public Company Limited, said, “Frasers Property Thailand’s ‘Mitrdonor’ project was launched out of a genuine commitment to support the health and well-being of the Thai people, particularly in response to the ongoing blood shortage crisis which can severely impact life-saving treatments. Organised quarterly in collaboration with the National Blood Centre, Thai Red Cross Society, the ‘Mitrdonor’ project has received strong support and participation from donors, attracting more than 1,300 donors per session on average and collecting more than 10,128,400 cc of blood in total across sessions, exceeding its initial target by over 80%.”

The initiative began at Samyan Mitrtown in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the demand for blood was especially critical. It subsequently expanded to other office buildings managed by FPT, including Sathorn Square, Park Ventures, and FYI Center.

In 2025, the project aims to reach a cumulative total of 12,000,000 cc of blood, driven by its M.I.T.R.strategy:

1.     Multi-stakeholder Partnership: Collaborating with the National Blood Centre, Thai Red Cross Society, to manage blood donations and provide essential information before, during, and after donation to ensure the safety of both staff and donors. The project also involves collaboration with leading Thai artists —many of whom previously joined Samyan Mitrtown’s “Artist Collaboration 1–2” campaign in 2016—to design commemorative t-shirts. Over the past five years, 14 artists including AnOfficerDies, Pomme Chan, FAHFAHS, Memiann Studio, and Dogplease have lent their creativity to the initiative, turning blood donation into a meaningful and artistic act of giving.

2.     Insight Driven – The team analyses data after each session to identify opportunities for improvement. After its first year, a ‘New Blood’ volunteer group was formed, comprising employees who were temporarily unable to donate due to minor health reasons such as anaemia, insufficient rest, or short-term illness. These volunteers received personal health guidance and support for recovery. As a result, over 70% of them were able to donate blood in the following round. Additionally, the team continues to share guidance on pre-donation preparation to improve blood quality and reduce deferral rates.

3.     Teamwork – The project’s success is possible with the strong collaboration of FPT employees, including a dedicated project team and trained volunteers. These volunteers undergo health screening training and assist donors throughout the process. Comprehensive support is also in place, including snack and beverage stations, observation zones, and first-aid points to ensure donor safety and comfort.

4.     Retention – Held regularly every three months, ‘Mitrdonor’ is more than a one-time event; it encourages repeat donations and fosters a sense of community. Emphasis is placed on post-donation care and education. Currently, repeat donors or “fans” of the project account for approximately 60% of all participants, a strong indicator of trust and engagement with the initiative.

“Frasers Property Thailand is proud that the ‘Mitrdonor’ project has served as a vital mechanism for increasing national blood reserves and saving lives over the past five years. We are committed to continuing this initiative as a meaningful contribution to society. We hope it can serve as a model that expands to other office buildings, retail centres, and mixed-use developments — helping to foster a culture of giving and advancing public health in alignment with our Group’s Social Value Framework and UN SDG Goal 3,” said Mr. Thanapol.
