Frasers Property (Thailand) Public Company Limited (FPT), Thailand's leading integrated real estate company, continues to support the needs of society by organizing the eighth blood donation under the "Let's Donate Blood Together during COVID-19" campaign. It was held at Samyan Mitrtown Shopping Center, a retail component of FPT's mixed-use development in Bangkok, between 25-26 April 2022. More than 800 healthy people participated in this charitable activity, including FPT's senior executives, staff, partners, customers, and the community at large.
This charitable activity is helping to solve the blood shortage problem by delivering 364,050 cc of blood to the National Blood Center, managed by the Thai Red Cross Society.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused the blood inventory in Thailand to decrease drastically. Although many people are now vaccinated and adjusted to the current situation, people are not donating blood as regularly as before. At present, the blood inventory is insufficient to sustain those with medical conditions and aid patients who require surgeries. This is due to insufficient mobile blood donation drives with some people concerned about safety and fear of COVID-19 infection.
The "Let's Donate Blood Together during COVID-19" blood donation drive features famous illustrator, Akkarapon Munlod, who specially designed "The Learning Library" tee-shirt that was given to blood donors as a souvenir.
The next blood donation event will be held in August 2022. FPT has supplied 2,158,000 cc of blood to date and the company is committed to organizing this corporate social responsibility campaign every quarter.
